Quartering – 13th July 2008

We headed up to the racecourse for a blast.  With drops and recalls being the order of the day an unexpected black and white cat running across the path into a farmyard can only have been sent to try us.  Grace dropped to command (but had risen slightly by the time had my camera phone out).  She didn’t attempt to chase, and when sent on ignored the route the cat took. Good stuff.  I thought we would also try her on some quartering in a wide grassy area.  It was messy, a bit ragged, with cuts too deep and one backcast.  She hasn’t been asked to quarter since March so I suppose this was to be expected really.  She ran wide though which is a start.  I really must practise this more often.  Not a bad training session…the sun at least shone.
