Pointer training – 6th July 2008

Although I was tempted to take her somewhere else after yesterday’s mishap I thought I should return to the scene of the crime and ‘test’ her.  So up into the forest we went.  Grace has however been sulking following yesterday’s ‘disappointment’ and she didn’t want to run.  She trotted along infront of me, taking a look back every few seconds.  We walked for an hour with very little running.  Not good, but not entirely bad…she didn’t see any hares.  This is an odd breed of dog; as hard as nails when it comes to working, injuries etc, but if they feel you are not happy with them they seem to sulk…maybe I imagine it, but I am sure this is the case.  The point is I will have to lighten up with her to bring her back up to speed without giving her license to do what she wants…such a fine line.

The common spotted orchid’s are out too which made for an interesting diversion…common?…I saw three.
